Brief Profile
Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College was established in 1977 as the first private self financing engineering college in the state of composite Andhra Pradesh and is sponsored by “Siddhartha Academy of General and technical Education”, a registered society run by philanthropists from different walks of life. The college is in autonomous status granted by UGC since 2006. The college has the distinction of being the first technical institution in Andhra Pradesh to secure extension of autonomous status without physical visit for a decade at a stretch up to 2027-2028. The college is offering B.Tech. programme in 9 branches with an intake of 1260, Seven M.Tech. programs with 90, in addition to 60 each in MBA and MCA programmes. At present, the college has 315 well-experienced faculty members including 149 members with PhD qualification. The college is spread over 24.05 acres of land with a built-up area of 66,165 sq.m, meeting all the norms of AICTE and is permanently affiliated to JNTUK,Kakinada.
Ranked at 141 in NIRF in 2022, only institute below 200 rank among the private institutions in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Continuously ranked below 200 during last five years.
The institute is accredited by NAAC with A+ grade in 2021.
First Autonomous institution in A.P. since 2006 & Extended autonomous status for 10 years up to 2028 by UGC without peer team visit.

- Establishment of Siemens Center of Excellence – (In collaboration with APSSDC, SIEMENS and VRSEC) – First college to establish 15 Advanced Labs and CM’s Skill excellence center.

- Sponsored research projects by the UGC, AICTE, DST, DRDO, ISRO amount to Rs 5.00 Crores during the last five years.
- During last five years more than 1500 research articles are published in national and international journals and no. of citations are more than 3000 (Scopus & Google Scholar).
- Very strong base in offering Consultancy and testing services revenue earned during the last five years: Rs.10.0 Crores.
