ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY  

The Information Technology course was started from the academic year 2000-2001. University Grants Commission has granted Autonomous status from 2006- 2007. Curriculum and Syllabus up gradation is being taken up from time to time for the benefit of students to include the latest developments in the IT field.  

The Information Technology Department provides excellent computing facilities. The Internet facility has been extended to the students free of cost through a Fiber Optic backbone network. The lab hours have been extended up to 8.00 P.M to enable students work on independent projects and to gain hands-on experience. The department consists of well-qualified faculty and technical staff.  

Objectives: Excellent Teaching will be provided to the students to update their knowledge. Industrial tours of one week duration are organized to give students an opportunity to study the working environment at successful companies.  Good relations with Industries are maintained to promote Industry – Institute interaction. Seminars & Workshops are being conducted to improve technical and communication skills among the students. Students are encouraged to aspire for academic excellence and to become industry-ready. Students are encouraged to participate in technical events around the country to acquire knowledge and to get an assessment of their relative ranking among their peers.
