TABLE TENNIS INTRAMURAL COMPETITIONS

Mr. B. Ankababu of 3rd ME student, of our college has secured 3rd place in JAVELIN throw event of Acharya Nagarjuna University Inter-collegiate Athletics Meet held at University College recently.

Physical Facilities:

Badminton - Indoor, Table Tennis, Gymnasium Hall, Play Ground (Consists of 400 mtrs Athletic Track, Volley Ball, Beach Volley Ball, Ball Badminton, Net Ball Courts, Long Jump, Pole Vault, Hammer, Shot-put, Foot Ball & Cricket Fields.

Activities:

Dept of Physical Education is organizing inter Departmental Games and Sports activities for the students every year.
Department is conducting selection trials for indoor and outdoor games in order to select players to represent our college in Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) inter collegiate tournaments.
Organized NUIC east zone cricket tournament in which about 15 colleges took part.
Our college teams participated in invitation tournaments within and outside AP.
Our college team participated in All India Invitation Badminton Tournament organized by BITS, Pilani, Rajasthan and won first place.
Department is deputing talented players for University selection trials to represent ANU at South Zone/ All India Inter University tournaments and also to attend coaching camps.
Department is encouraging the students to participate in games and sports regularly in large numbers.
Providing Gym Facility for improving general physical fitness facility to all the students.
Purchasing sports & games material for the use of students from time to time.

Achievements and performance details during the academic year 2006-07.

Basketball:

Participated in Acharya Nagarjuna University Inter-collegiate tournament for the first time held at DAR College, Nuzvid from 13^th to 15^th November, 2006.

Cricket:

College Cricket Team secured II position in East-zone tournament of ANU inter-collegiate and qualified for the inter-zone matches.

Participated in EENADU-TATA INDICOM invitation cricket tournament and secured 2^nd position.

Badminton(M):

College Men team participated in ANUIC tournament held at ANR College, Gudivada.

Table-Tennis(M):

College Mens’ Team secured 4^th place in ANUIC Table tennis Tournament held at DAR College, Nuzvid

Swimming:

Mr. Neilashsih Gua, I yr. Student has won 3^rd place in 100mtrs freestyle event in ANU Swimming Competitions.

FOOTBALL:(M)

College Football team for the first time qualified for the quarter-final stage of ANUIC inter-collegiate tournament since 1977.

Gymnastics:

Our college Gymnastics Team won ALL ROUND TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP and also, SECOND ALL ROUND TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP in GYMNASTICS MEN Tournament in ANUIC Gymnastics Tournament.

i)  Mr. J. Arun, 4/4 ECE student has been declared the ALL ROUND INDIVIDUAL CHAMPION in ANU Gymnastics tournament consecutively 4^th year

ii) Mr. T. Sri Ram Koteswara Rao, 2/4 ECE student also declared second All Round Individual Champion in the same tournament.

Individual Players Attended Selection Trials of ANU Tournaments during the academic year in the following events

1.   HOCKEY: Mr. S. Sukumar, 3^rd year students attended Selection Trials in Hockey event

2.   NETBALL: Mr. S. Swaroop Babu, I yr. MCA students attended Netball Selection Trials of ANU

Players Selected to Represent ACHARYA NAGARJUNA University Teams for participation in All India/ South-zone Inter-University Tournaments for the year 2006-07.

1.Cricket:

i)    Mr. N. Sri Sasank, 4/4 IT selected to represent ANU Cricket Team in South zone Inter-University tournament.

ii)    Mr. Ch. Sai Krishna. 4/4 EIE selected to represent ANU Cricket Team

2.Basketball:

i)          Mr. Sateesh, ii/iv IT student selected to represent ANU Basketball Team for the first time from our college for participation in South zone Inter-University tournament.

3.Table-Tennis

i)         Mr. A.V.Chankya 4/4 IT Student selected to represent Achayra Nagarjuna University Table-Tennis Team for participation in All I ndia Inter-University tournament. This achievement made by the student after a gap of 10 years.

4.GYMNASTICS:

Mr. T. Sri Ram Koteswara Rao of 2^nd year ECE student selected to represent Acharya Nagarjuna University Gymnastics Men’s team for participation in All India Inter-University tournament held at University of Kurukshetra, Kurukshetra.

Mr. J. Arun of 4/4 ECE also selected to represent the same, due to I semester end examinations not accompanied the team.

All India Inter-University Participants Mr.I Vivak (4/4 ME) & N.Sree Sasank (3/4 IT) represented ANU Cricked Men team

J.Aruna (3/4 ECE) represented ANU Gymnastic's team.

L.Lokesh (1/4) represented ANU Badminton Men team and stood 2nd in south zone inter-University tournament and qualified for All India Inter-University tournaments.
