Dear Students,
We all Indians readily get tuned to new atmosphere when we are abroad. We do not
litter the roads. We do not spit on roads. We do not talk loud in public places.
I always wondered why do we do these when we are here? Is that lack of respect
to law or is it due to lack of civic sense?
What ever be the reason- I have some thing pinching me in the recent past. I
have been working here for 6 years now. For 5 years it is never seen but this
year there is large scale littering -in front of canteen. Partly may be because
the canteen is jam-packed. I see lot of bottles, drink cans, chocolate/biscuit
wrappers - all scattered around.
Management is spending lacks of rupees on keeping the campus clean. You can see
that the roads are swept up almost everyday. Even though they know- the students
are unto spoiling the ambiance of their own college.
Is it possible for the final year batch to determine not to litter the campus?
And to advice your juniors too? May be you got to be polite while asking them to
have some civic sense as this may lead to altercations. Next time you see some
one doing it- show them politely the stench bin in front of canteen.
Its your college. Some one of you who have leadership qualities must take lead
and start a campaign against throwing stench in open.
