There are 30 faculty<\/span><\/strong> members in the department out of which 18<\/span><\/strong> are Ph.Ds<\/span><\/strong> from reputed Universities, while 8 are pursuing Ph.D<\/span><\/strong> at different Universities in India. Dr. S. K. Shukla<\/strong> from Edith Cowan Univeristy, Australia & Dr. Srimaruthi Jonnalagadda<\/strong>, Research & amp Development Engineer, Tindall Corporation, USA and Sri C. A. Prasad<\/strong>, Metey Engineering, Hyderabad from Industry.<\/p>\n

Research<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t

<\/p>\n

The department of Civil Engineering is very active in research. The number and quality of research publications in the department has been increasing year on year. Research papers are published in highly cited science citation indexed and Scopus indexed journals. Three sponsored research projects form national funding agencies including DST<\/span><\/strong>, RPS<\/strong><\/span>, MODROBS<\/strong><\/span>, ISRO<\/span><\/strong> – NRSC<\/span><\/strong> and SERB – TARE (NIO-Goa)<\/span><\/strong> are presently on going in the department. Sponsored research projects from private agencies including RVNL<\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0 BPCL<\/span><\/strong>,\u00a0 APSWHC<\/span><\/strong> etc. are also undertaken by the department and successfully completed.<\/p>\n

Consultancy<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t

<\/p>\n

Civil Engineering Consultancy Cell furnishes the Institute interface with industry. The consultancy cell is very active in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The Department offers consultancy services in the fields of Material Testing, Structural Designs, Soil Testing, Water Testing, Pavement Material Testing and Surveying. Experienced faculty and qualified technicians help in the services rendered by the consultancy. The Civil Engineering Consultancy generates revenue of around 200 Lakhs<\/strong><\/span> annually. Apart from revenue generation, the consultancy also increases industry exposure to both faculty and students.<\/p>\n

The Civil Engineering department is collaborating with different industries and organizations in order to enhance the recruitment of students and campus placements. Every academic year, a minimum of 75%<\/span><\/strong> of eligible students are placed successfully in different organizations and institutions.<\/p>\n
