Advanced Thermal Engineering Lab<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t

<\/p>\n

Advanced Thermal Engineering laboratory provides facilities to carry out experiments and project works in the areas of Solar Energy, Wind Energy and Fluid Flow. This laboratory is offered in the 1st semester of M.Tech (Thermal Engineering) Program.<\/p>\n

The laboratory consists of the following equipments:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Solar Thermal Training System
\n\u2022 Subsonic Wind Tunnel (300 mm X 300 mm)
\n\u2022 Wind Energy Training System (200 W)
\n\u2022 Experimental Cooling Tower
\n\u2022 Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger
\n\u2022 Vapour Absorption Refrigeration

Centre of Excellence in Composites<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t

<\/p>\n

The department has established \u201cCentre of Excellence in Composites\u201d funded by DST-FIST at a cost of Rs.60 Lakhs. The center is equipped with state of art facilities to carry out Mechanical and Thermal Characterization of Composites. PG students, PhD scholars and faculty members from the institute and other colleges in the region are using the available facilities for their research work. The research outcomes are being disseminated through patent applications and publication of research papers in reputed journals.
