Department of Computer Applications

The Department of Computer Applications was established in the year 2004-2005 to run the three years Postgraduate programme in Master of Computer Applications(MCA) with excellent infrastructure and experienced faculty. The curriculum of these courses is meticulously designed by the members of board of studies formed with the eminent people from esteemed universities and software companies. The syllabus for the said courses is being constantly modified to keep the knowledge of the students abreast with the latest developments in the IT sector. The department has a well maintained Computer laboratory with internet facility for the staff and the students. The Department library has more than 200 books and is available to students and Faculty for ready reference. The emphasis is given on not only making the students academically brilliant, but true leaders and team players, thus preparing them for the real life corporate world. So, the department constantly invite people from industries and top institutions to provide valuable information to our students.

PO-1:Computational Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of computational, mathematical and domain to identify and capture requirements of specific problems.

PO-2:Problem Analysis: Identify and investigate the cause of a computing incident, issue,or failure and then use one’s expertise in recommending solutions for improvements to systems, processes, procedures, and designs.

PO-3:Design/Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex computing problems, and maintain solutions for systems, components, or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO-4:Conduct investigations of complex Computing problems: Devise a research-based approach to conduct a systematic investigation into and study of computing techniques, generate reports, process information in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions.

PO-5:Modern Tool Usage: Develop, apply, and maintain relevant computing tools that help to support and debug the computing activities and applications while also minimizing the limitations associated with these tools.

PO-6:Professional Ethics: Understand and commit to behave responsibly by following the general rules on how a person should act towards other people and institutions in a computing environment.

PO-7:Life-long Learning: Identify ways in which you can expand your knowledge to gain new skills and expertise so you can support your team to steadily learnby providing them with the tools that facilitate this learning.

PO-8:Project Management and Finance: Apply knowledge in developing processes, methods, and in building skills, knowledge, and experience to achieve specific project objectives according to the project acceptance criteria within agreed parameters while also ensuring that end deliverables are submitted within timescale and budget.

PO-9:Communication Efficacy: Communicate effectively with your associates and with society at large, about latest trends in computing technologies and about what is in-store for the future; while also managing tasks associated with generating periodic reports, creating documentations and presentations, and ensuring your instructions are clear and understandable.

PO-10: Societal and Environmental Concern: Evaluate the impact and develop strategies to minimize issues pertaining to the society, environment, medical, safety, and culture; and the consequential responsibilities appropriate to professional computing practices.
