Department of Mathematics

“Mathematics, hailed as the queen of sciences” by Carl Fredrich, dreaded by many and loved by an equal number, has progressed rapidly since the beginning of recorded history.

Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1977 to provide strong Mathematical back ground to Engineering Graduates and to cope up with the needs of Engineering Technology at National and International levels. It was started with a very modest beginning having only a handful of courses. As the department grew keeping in view a variety of applications in diversified areas it has expanded to the size of 14 members teaching more than 15 courses at UG and PG levels. Also the faculty were actively involved in research and published/ presented quality papers/book chapters in reputed journals/conferences (National and International)/Patents and guiding research scholars in different universities. Three UGC Minor Research projects were completed by the faculty. At present there are 9 Ph.D’s , 5 members are pursuing. Also the Department organised good number of workshops/seminars/ guest lectures/certificate courses related to technical and social issues.
